It looks like most festivals are returning, aside from those that were killed off by the lockdowns of the past 2 years. That took a heavy toll on their finances. I am checking with them day by day, if you have an update for an, please tell me via the Feedback form.

2024 Blueberry Festivals in Michigan - Where, When and More to Find a Blueberry Festival Near You!

Michigan

Blueberries typically ripen from April (in Florida and Texas) through June and August in the upper Midwest and New England. June dominates as the month for blueberry production (and festivals) Unlike strawberries, which grow almost anywhere, blueberries are grown commercially in half as many states.

There are two general types of blueberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Blueberry festival held at and by a farm. They are different in what they offer, and community festivals tend to be less expensive so they are grouped separately. (of course not all states and areas have both.)

Community Blueberry Festivals

• Harrietta Annual Blueberry Festival - first Saturday in August from 8 am to 3 pm
  Phone: 231-429-5462 8 am to 11 am - Pancake Breakfast at Harrietta Fire Hall. 10 am 'til the last one is gone - Blueberry Ice Cream Social, hand-held blueberry pies, fresh blueberries, T-shirts. 12 pm 'til last one is gone - Hamburgers / Hot Dogs at Harrietta United Methodist Church (HUMC). Rummage & Bake Sale at HUMC. Craft show (Village Hall) and Country Market (outdoors) Silent Auction; Ticket Raffle for Quilts and more at St. Edward Catholic Church; U-Pick Blueberries at Harrietta's Blueberry Hill. • Marquette Blueberry Festival - Friday, late July from 10 am to 7 pm (Friday typically in late July)
  Marquette Downtown, West Washington and Front Streets, Marquette, MI 49855. Phone: (906) 228-9475. Washington and Front streets will be bustling with sidewalk sales, food vendors, artists, demonstrations, pony rides, inflatable arcade games, and activities for children and families. Downtown restaurants will satisfy your cravings for blueberry fare, from blueberry pizza to blueberry beer, while many downtown shops offer will offer "blue" specials. Local farmers will be on-hand throughout the day selling fresh produce, including mounds of plump blueberries and music fills the streets as live musicians perform throughout the day.
• Montrose Blueberry Festivals - every year on the third weekend of August
  144 Hickory Street, Montrose, MI 48457. Phone: (810) 639-3475. Fax: (810) 639-3474. Email: montroseblueberryfestival@hotmail.com. They serve blueberry pancakes, have a beer tent, arts and crafts and flea markets, and of course a parade with a blueberry queen. Montrose is located about 18 miles northwest of Flint, Michigan on M-57 about five miles from I-75. It is always the third weekend of August.
• National Blueberry Festival - August - the second weekend of August each year
  South Haven, Michigan. Phone: 269-767-7159. Email: info@blueberryfestival.com. The National Blueberry Festival is held on the second weekend of August each year, and is one of the country's oldest continuously-running fruit festivals! We're proud of South Haven's tremendous blueberry crop, and the important industry it represents in our area. Van Buren County is the Nation's most prolific producer of highbush blueberries, and Michigan as a whole produces upward of 100 million pounds each year. Growers, packers, u-picks, specialty equipment, agritourism, cottage industry and more convene right here in Southwest Michigan, and it's all thanks to the delicious and healthy king of fruits- the almighty blueberry! You will find fresh blueberries, blueberry plants, fresh baked pies, raffle tickets, festival t-shirts, music, parades, etc.
• Paradise Annual Wild Blueberry Festival - the third weekend in August
  Paradise, Michigan. Phone: (906) 492-3219. Email: information@wildblueberryfestival.org. The Festival is held on the third full weekend of August each year when the town puts on its "Blue Clothes" and invites everyone to join them for the Arts & Crafts Fair and Wild Blueberry Celebration. It is always lots of fun! Visitors can stroll the grounds along the shore of beautiful Whitefish Bay on Lake Superior, browse the Arts & Crafts Fair with 50+ artists, and enjoy continuous family entertainment. Festival visitors will know they are in "Paradise" when they taste the homemade blueberry pies, muffins, and buckles available throughout the weekend. A delicious Blueberry Brunch accompanied by the piano music of Palma Richardson will start the day both Friday and Saturday, and the Blueberry Brunch will run on Sunday morning also. Marjorie Shaefer will entertain with a collection of rhymes, fables, and folk tales each day, and Paradise's own Chet Mitchell will amaze us with his juggling ability and comic wit for three fun-filled days. Farm Blueberry Festivals

In addition to community and church festivals, some private farms have their own blueberry festivals. See each farm for this year's dates (they often do not announce them until the end of May). Closed festivals

It appears as though the following blueberry festivals are no longer being held.

• Grandville Vintage Cars and Blueberry Fest - UPDATE for 2021: It looks like they've dropped blueberries from the festival! Friday and Saturday in early August; Friday 4 pm to 9 pm, Saturday 10 am to 4 pm
  3195 Wilson Ave SW, Grandville, MI 49418. Phone: (616) 531-3030. There are classic cars, vintage vendors, and lots of blueberry dishes. The event happens on Chicago Drive between Wilson and Washington. There are also carnival games, street vendors, barbecue and loads of blueberry deserts. World War II airplanes fly overhead at 7pm!
• Imlay City Michigan Annual Blueberry Festival - early August UPDATE for 2021: Their website is gone, it may have been canceled
  downtown, Imlay City, MI. Phone: (810) 724-1361. From Vendors on the street to the many games, inflatables and dunk tank, you will find that there is always something for children and adults to participate in. No child, is ever turned away (especially in the pie eating contest) no matter how old. This entire weekend is designed for families like yours.
