Not all areas of a state have flowers farms that are open to the public. If you know of any others, please tell us using the add a farm form!

Remember to always check with the farm's own website or Facebook page before you go - or call or email them if they don't have a website or Facebook page. Conditions at the farms and crops can change literally overnight, so if you want to avoid a wasted trip out there - check with the farm directly before you go! If I cannot reach them, I DON'T GO!

    Our farm grows a wide variety of both annual and perennial cutting flowers, including sunflowers, zinnias, celosia, gomphrena, strawflower, cosmos, and dahlias. Information and supplies can be found in the farm stand.

Over 3.5 acres of cottage garden cut flowers in every size, shape and color available late June through September. Pick Your Own Cut Flower. Picking starts around mid-June in a couple of` our perennial gardens and starts in our annual flower fields with snapdragons, statice, and stock. As the season progresses, more colors and varieties are available. The end of our cutting season is usually around October 1. The beginning and the end are always dictated by Mother Nature. Click here for a map and directions. Zach's Farm Zachs Farm in York offers "The Great Corn Maze" on 25 acres of cornfields. Last years maze included the shape of the peace symbol, a triangle, and the word "shark." A 20-minute hay ride delivers you to the maze. You can play "flashlight tag" inside the maze from 7 pm to 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. In addition to the maze, the farm offers tractor-pulled hayrides to a field for pick-your-own pumpkins. The patch is no postage-stamp-sized garden. Its five rows extend about a half mile long. Visitors will also find a hay-bale playground, popcorn, drinks, and farm-grown produce for sale

Flower Picking Tips, and Information

Farms that offer U-pick or pick-your-own flowers are becoming more common.

  • Once picked, quickly get the stems into water
  • Get them out of the hot sun after picking to increase shelf life.  Cool shade is best.
  • Re-cut stems while underwater - once you get home. Making a fresh cut, while the cut end is submerged helps the stem to take up water and avoid a vapor lock.
