(UPDATED: June 22, 2022) Comments from a visitor on June 14, 2010: "My boyfriend and I visited this farm last Sunday to pick strawberries and we definitely plan on coming back to verify out the other crops they have available. The owners were very nice and friendly, and we even got a little tour of the farm and heard about the different things they have available. When we were ready to pick berries, we were shown where to go and then left on our own, which was nice. They provide pints for you to fill up, but we brought our own container to bring the berries home in, and the owners mentioned that although they provide containers for transport, it would be nice if more people brought their own containers, so that's just a suggestion. The row of strawberries looked excellent and they tasted even better! But most of all, we really enjoyed ourselves and we were glad to see friendly farmers. I think this would be an excellent place to bring kids to have them learn a little bit about farming and have fun picking their own crops. Also, depending on where you're coming from, the drive is really nice..we drove on different roads there and back, and both routes were very scenic. I called about 2 hours ahead and spoke with the farmer, and he said depending on the weather they would be open all afternoon for pick-your-own berries. When we got there, they told us that pretty much any time they are home, they are open, but it's a good idea to call first anyway. I will definitely be returning throughout the summer! "

Flower Picking Tips, and Information
Farms that offer U-pick or pick-your-own flowers are becoming more common.
Once picked, quickly get the stems into water
Get them out of the hot sun after picking to increase shelf life. Cool shade is best.
Re-cut stems while underwater - once you get home. Making a fresh cut, while the cut end is submerged helps the stem to take up water and avoid a
vapor lock.
