Looking for a Blueberry festival in November 2024? There is no other listing as complete and current as this list, just updated! All the Blueberry festivals in the US, Canada and Britain we can find are listed on this page! If you love Blueberries, look for a festival near you below! I update the dates as soon as the festivals publish their information, but you can always click on the links (usually the name of the festival) to see the current information on the festival's own website. Blueberries typically ripen from April (in Florida and Texas) through May on the west coast, June in most other areas and July-August in the far north and Canada. But June and July dominate as the months for blueberry production (and festivals) Unlike strawberries, which grow almost anywhere, blueberries are more typically grown in the There are two general types of blueberry festivals 1) community festivals, usually organized by a church, school, local Chamber of commerce or a town and 2). Strawberry festival held at and by a farm 38 states grow blueberries commercially, but 10 of these states dominateand produce more than 98% of U.S. commercial production: California, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, Mississippi, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oregon and Washington. British Columbia in Canada also produces highbush blueberries. Even if they aren't grown locally, there may still be a blueberry festival near you!

Update for 2024:

It looks like most festivals are returning, aside from those that were killed off by the lockdowns of the past 2 years. That took a heavy toll on their finances. I am checking with them day by day, if you have an update for an, please tell me via the Feedback form.

  • Alabama Blueberry Festival - the third Saturday in June from 8 am to 3 pm - One Day Only! - Saturday typically in mid June

    Denali Blueberry Festival - August
    Otto Lake, Healy Alaska. Phone: 907-683-4636. Email: email info@denalichamber.com. Join Denali Chamber of Commerce at 5 pm for a carnival. Kids games, lake raft rides, dunk tank and more! The BBQ starts at 6 pm, with music and dancing to follow. Admission is $5/person or $20/families. Includes food!   • Ketchikan Blueberry Festival - First Saturday in August!
    Main Street, Ketchikan, Alaska. Thousands of Ketchikan residents and visitors celebrate the blueberry in style with the annual Blueberry Arts Festival. The summer staple offers over 100 booths featuring local art and handcrafted treasures. The Festival makes a fast start with the Fun Run followed by cheering on your favorite slug during the Slug Races. Family fun continues with food and game booths, a blueberry pie-eating contest, the Battle of the Bands, trivia contest and the Great Blueberry Race. The Pet & Doll Parade kicks off the festivities on Friday, August 6th, followed by the opening reception for the Blueberry Juried Art Show. Complete the evening with the 13th annual Gigglefeet Dance Festival! The Festival finishes Sunday, August 8th with the annual Richard Brautigan and Dick Whitaker Memorial Trout Fishing in America Poetry Slam.
  • Nome Blueberry Festival - Saturday in late August/early September
    Anvil City Square, INome, Alaska. There will be music, arts and crafts, and blueberry-based foods, like blueberry jams to salsas to desserts. >25 vendors, Musicians etc. Ask at the Nome Visitor Center for the date of this year's festival.

  • Buellton Blueberry Festival at Santa Barbara Blueberries, Restoration Oaks Farm - early June UPDATE for 2022, There is nothing on their website about it, as of early May 2022 - call them, email them or keep checking their website

Open: Call for availability and hours; during the season (typically starts in May) from 10 am to 6 pm; UPick closes at 5:30 pm; Fall Hours Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm for UPick raspberries and blackberries. The farm store will be stocked with already picked raspberries and blackberries as well as lots of other fun stuff through the weekend. Directions: Email, or call or see this page. Blueberry UPick season is from late May through June and July every year, and if the weather is good, we may open as early as April and have blueberries into August. After many surveys of our regular pickers, we planted 6 varieties of raspberries that will be ripe and ready from August through October. We will also have watermelons, cantaloupe and other fun fruits and veggies for picking in the late summer and fall. Every year, we open the fields for a day or two in the off-season to our registered VIP guests. The select fields will be open, even though the freeway signs will say "closed". Blueberry festivals in other countries

Blueberries are thought of as a uniquely American fruit, but there are very similar berries in other countries. A huckleberry or Saskatoon, found in Canda and parts of the U.S. are related to the blueberry. In the UK, you may find a whorlberry or whortleberry and, in Scotland, blaeberry. And through much of Europe, a bilberry. Bilberries are very dark blue berries about half as big as a blueberries (think a pea). They are very tart / sour and have some sweetness, with yellowish insides.
