Notes for November 2024: Crop growth is slowing down, except for Christmas tree farms and if you live in southern California, southern Texas, Florida or along the Gulf coast where citrus are starting, and believe it or not, the blueberry and strawberry season in those areas is about to begin. Directions: Drive from Lunenburg toward Blue Rocks. After 1 mile, turn left on Heckman's Island Road. After 1 mile, cross small bridge, drive one quarter mile, turn right on Monk Point Road. Farm is on left after one quarter mile. We are open October, November, December. The Bog Store is open from Canadian Thanksgiving to Christmas (Th/Fri/Sat, 11-4), with pre-bagged berries and farm-made cranberry preserves. On Open Farm Day in September, the farm opens for free guided walking tours, educational displays, and plenty of complimentary cranberry refreshments. See how cranberries are grown and tour the processing facility.
