Notes for November 2024: Crop growth is slowing down, except for Christmas tree farms and if you live in southern California, southern Texas, Florida or along the Gulf coast where citrus are starting, and believe it or not, the blueberry and strawberry season in those areas is about to begin. See your state harvest calendar . This year, much of the country is still seeing mild weather, so lettuce, peas, broccoli, cabbage  and other greens are thriving.  And this is a good time to get a canner and  learn how to preserve foods for the winter, like canning some applesauce, apple butter or jam, which make great gifts. As do your own homemade specialty liqueurs! How about homemade cranberry sauce or a pumpkin pie made from a real pumpkin for the holidays? The lines moved quickly. We were able to get up to 2 dozen delicious doughnuts in quick order. The hay ride is not to be missed. We picked a peck of beautiful apples. Their cider is so fresh! We will be back for more soon!"

I actually just made jam out of half a bushel of the sweetest peaches on this earth. They were so polite and friendly and nice to us.   A visitor writes, on August 17, 2008: "A farm based on the honor system. No one there to staff the booth, just pay for what you got. Don't cheat....it affects all of us. VERY, VERY nice gentleman who actually works for the Knox County Health Dept runs there and was weeding when I talked to him. A great variety of stuff: Hot peppers, bell peppers, blackberries, zucchini, squash, green beans, pumpkins, raspberries, roma and round tomatoes. Good pricing too. A little hard to find, you need to follow the signs. "

  Comments from a visitor on September 29, 2009: "Love it! Great blueberries, nice folks, and GREAT prices! I think they are around $2-3 a pound! I think you can also buy pre-picked, but we always pick our own. That is half the fun! I know they plant different varieties of blueberries so they have a crop for a long time (we always pick in June or July, but I think they go all the way until September). I do believe they are organic and I think they do have a restroom you can use (Taffy Douglas, the owner, sets up her blueberry "business" in her basement, where you go to weigh the berries, etc., after picking them) "
