Notes for November 2024: Crop growth is slowing down, except for Christmas tree farms and if you live in southern California, southern Texas, Florida or along the Gulf coast where citrus are starting, and believe it or not, the blueberry and strawberry season in those areas is about to begin. See your state harvest calendar . This year, much of the country is still seeing mild weather, so lettuce, peas, broccoli, cabbage  and other greens are thriving.  And this is a good time to get a canner and  learn how to preserve foods for the winter, like canning some applesauce, apple butter or jam, which make great gifts. As do your own homemade specialty liqueurs! How about homemade cranberry sauce or a pumpkin pie made from a real pumpkin for the holidays? The varities of Rabbiteye blueberries we offer include Centurion, Tifblue, and Powderblue. We invite you to visit the farm, where you can participate in U-Pick or purchase pre-picked blueberries. U-Pick is a great opportunity to bring your kids and spend the afternoon outdoors. You can stroll down the rows of bushes filling your personal bucket with fresh, organic berries. We do not spray pesticides on our blueberries. We offer water and a covered area to rest and get shade from the sun. "Outhouse" facilities are also available. Our strawberries make springtime pickin a family tradition May until early June. We provide containers for your pickin pleasure. Blackberries and Summer Produce (June-Aug) Call for availability. Blackberries are grown on trellises, with grassed walks between the rows. This makes our berries easy to pick, even with a few thorns. We have seven varieties, with harvest dates ranging from mid-June to August. Please call for availability! We provide gallon containers for picking. Our summer produce is grown right here on the farm for optimum freshness. No UPIK available for summer produce; which is Cantaloupe, corn, tomatoes, squash, cucumber, pepper, watermelon, and okra (and boy do my kids love to pick okra!!!!!!!!). These are available at various times during the season. Visit our honey bee observatory and see our hard-working friends doing what they do best. In the spring, April-May, we have our fully stocked greenhouse with annuals, perennials, vegetable plants, and more.
